Wie zoeken we?

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to team up with our Tax and Legal Advisor. The ideal candidate will provide legal advice and guidance to the refund entities, assist in managing legal risks, draft and review contracts, ensure compliance with data protection and privacy laws, and handle legal disputes and projects.

What will you do?

  • Research and analyze legal issues related specifically to the VAT refund business and to general operations, providing clear and concise advice to the Tax and Legal Advisor and other stakeholders.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents for the refund entities, ensuring they reflect the best interests of the DKV Group and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Monitor and update the Tax and Legal Advisor on changes in the legal environment affecting the refund entities, such as new laws, regulations, court decisions, and best practices.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures for data protection and privacy, including providing training to colleagues and responding to inquiries and requests from customers and employees.
  • Assist in resolving legal disputes with tax authorities, customers, suppliers, and other parties, including preparing and filing legal documents, conducting research and analysis, and supporting the refund entities in negotiations and litigation.
  • Collaborate with the Tax and Legal Advisor and other stakeholders in managing and executing long-term projects, such as the country-by-country compliance survey, intercompany contractual revisions, and risk assessment and mitigation.

Wat neem je mee?

To be successful in this role, you have the following skills and qualities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil law or a related field (ongoing or completed).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Dutch, with the ability to communicate effectively with different audiences and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and interpret complex legal issues and provide practical and sound advice.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to draft and review legal documents with precision and clarity, as well as identify potential risks or deficiencies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software and tools, such as Kluwer InView and IBFD tax research platform.
